This volume offers a curated selection of papers from the Material Image Conference, the 8th Transdisciplinary Imaging Conference held at the National Art School, Sydney. The contributions capture the range of voices and approaches that best exemplify the conference’s concerns, which includes theoretical reflections and practice-led investigations from established thinkers and emerging scholars. The papers address common themes that arose from the conference itself, grouped around the concerns of the image and material ecologies; data visualisation; technology; and performance and materiality.
